It strikes me . . . [Jun. 29th, 2013|07:30 pm]
The Society for the Preservation of Mike

At one of the panels at 4th Street, someone mentioned GROWING UP WEIGHTLESS.  As I thought about it, it struck me that there are still a number of Mike's stories that haven't been collected, and as such, I haven't read.  Does anyone have a comprehensive list of what remains uncollected?

Thanks for the response. I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that there were still a few stray poems and stories that hadn't been anthologized. I was happy to hear GROWING UP WEIGHTLESS mentioned in the panel, since I found it to be an absolutely fascinating novel, and I wasn't sure too many people were still familiar with it. (I was also stunned to find out that Mike and Will worked on that series of Civil War comics! I'll have to keep my eyes open for those!)

There are some pieces not in either of those collections, nor in Timesteps -- send me a note (dnmsnyder AT gmail DOT com) and I'll send you the bibliography.

I don't think the two Car Wars milieu short stories are in either, are they?

They are not. Those at least are available from Steve Jackson Games.

The NESFA pages are still online: http://www.nesfa.org/Boskone/b34/fordbib.html

I think there's a reasonable amount of poetry and (mostly minor) gaming stuff (mostly via Steve Jackson Games and the Pyramid) that are uncollected.

Prosewise, maybe the most intriguing is at least one of the Alternities Corporation stories, "Slowly By, Lorena". Tom/Scraps is the standard bearer for those, and would be the expert to consult.
